Remote Viewing or Perception
On 18 June 1925, a Czechoslovakian psychic named BÃ Âetislav Kafka asked a group of people he trained to be clairvoyant to "see" what had happened on an expedition on the way to the North Pole (1). Explorer Roald Amundsen tried over the pole, a feat buy vimeo views that has not yet fly realized.
Safely in the city and Becva Krasno of Czechoslovakia, the Group applied the ability now called Remote Viewing, in order to determine the status of efforts Amundsen. "It is a terrible fog and strong wind on the pole," she said. "None of the expedition has yet to get here. The storm is too strong to reach the Pole by air."
Two days later, they heard that Amundsen had no success, as they had intended. Later Amundsen was able to fly over the North Pole with a total of six crew members packed into a plane. A second plane was damaged and was not part of the victorious World War II was feat.
During Kafka and his trained group of parapsychologists notified of the war the progress of remote viewing. Kafka would say to order a psychic, what he "saw" is at the front, while another would have on his team the same order. The clairvoyant were not aware of what their teammates were reported. According to Ostrander and Schroeder (1), the reports generally agreed and Kafka had a "good sign" of what had happened hundreds of miles away. It is interesting to me that the authors discuss not what was Kafka's role, if any, in the Second World War, and which uses the information was gleaned from his clairvoyant asked.
Somewhat later, in the 1970s, the CIA was interested in remote monitoring and established a program initiated at the Stanford Research Institute (SRI) by Harold E. Puthoff. In an excellent article was published in 1976, reported Puthoff and Targ (2) a large number of surprising results. The data of more than 50 experiments accumulated concluded that remote viewing, the ability to "by innate mental processes remote geographical or technical specifications" was not dependent on or affected by the distance and the information submitted by the respondent is not analytically is opposed in nature such as shape, form, color and material to the analytical aspects such as function, name or numbers.
Interestingly enough, is not the purpose of the research to confirm or deny the phenomenon of remote viewing, but she and her study for possible application reconnaissance.
The term "Remote Viewing" by Ingo Swann (3), which has long been characterized as the "Father of Remote Viewing". Swann was an important aspect of the work Puthoff and trained people who were described as "psychological and Stones" to undergo the training in order to develop remote viewing techniques. Of all the articles about paranormal abilities that I have researched, this is the first state to which the power can be learned. There are even several articles on EzineArticles.com that to discuss the training and as a remote viewer (4-6) is formed. Paul Smith determined at the International Remote Viewing Association Web site that remote viewing is not so much as "psychic phenomenon" but an "imposed discipline or skill, or to facilitate the viewer to 'harness' his own innate, underlying psi capabilities helps "(7).
Puthoff and Targ concluded that the difference was between the experienced and inexperienced "perceiver" as the remote viewers were referred to the reliability of the results instead of issuing the option, (2). A natural tendency to mental phenomenon seems necessary to ensure the reliability of its ability.
Robert Jahn, who soon would become involved in the Princeton Engineering Anomalies Research (PEAR) program, documented extensive replications of Puthoff work in the Chicago area by Dunne and improve Bisaha from 1976-1979 (8). Some of the earlier aspects of the research were confirmed Puthoff, such as distance between the subject and the percipient not a factor and the more aesthetic aspects are perceived more accurately than the analytical details.
One more interesting feature was the time, unlike that of the perceiver remote location has not shown with the time the subject was actually correspond to the locale. The perception of the target site have been hours or even days to be obtained before the issue or even visited the site prior to the selection of the target. The yield was at least as successful as the tests performed in real time.
In a later article, Jahn is stretched with this aspect retrocognition Dunne (the ability to see past events) and include clairvoyance, yet regardless of the time. This was discussed as part of the PEAR program report in the Journal of Scientific Exploration (9).
However to define in their quest for criteria to quantify and to develop also receive data from remote viewing, the ability to reduce seemed. As part of the earlier experiments at SRI, a similar response was also noted (2). Since paranormal perception is a natural ability would perceiver and the researchers prefer to see the power of more rather than less to improve. This "decline effect" was studied in detail by Dr. Charles Tart, University of California. He kept repeating tasks like guessing cards as "classical technique to deconditioning no answer," a "technique was to erase the mental functions in laboratory.
Another remarkable observation from the SRI experiment, that motion is detected only rarely, even if the next agent stood on the moving objects, like a railroad crossing a railroad trestle target, although static objects were correctly identified (2).
During the period of the seventies "experiments, SRI was obviously not open to the participation of the CIA. Puthoff While the paper, there are references to" government visitors. "But in 1995 the CIA released documents and approved for release and reveals its sponsorship of the remote Viewing research. On the website remoteviewing.com Puthoff extends around the circumference of the experiments, the remote monitoring of sites in the Soviet Union (10). percipient received a complete map coordinates in degrees, minutes and seconds, but was that the target of a research and development center was told. The percipient produced drawings of a building's layout and a "multi-story gantry crane" on the site. The results were so promising enough for the CIA continues experimentation.
Despite the fact that the remote viewing experiments "statistically significant results "demonstrated their use in 'and information gathering is not justified" (10). The CIA's "laissez faire" attitude has not deterred researchers examined from continuing operations for the phenomenon. Moddell at the University of Colorado has shown that remote viewing and other paranormal abilities, the second law of thermodynamics obey: The entropy of a closed system can not progress with time (11) to reduce, but his research and a follow-up paper on causation and retro-causation (12) go beyond the scope of this article. .
In summary, Remote Viewing or Remote perception is still the subject of intensive research and teaching. Unlike other psi phenomena such as telepathy and telekinesis, a person can be trained as a perceiver and learn the techniques of remote viewing. Martha C. Lawrence discussed the subject in "Ashes of Aries" (13), as her detective Elizabeth Chase, who had been trained in Remote Viewing techniques, is rather cold, mentioned that one of her friend was involved in the project and SRI for the government "dubious ends". Although truly a work of fiction, Lawrence remarks, because the wealth of information available through the Internet shows that even the CIA saw the advantages of remote monitoring. Perhaps with the end of the Cold War and the ongoing mockery of the PSI research by the scientific community, the CIA has caused, is removed from the program. Whatever the reason Remote Viewing by many as a very real scientific fact with very real applications.
